Project Systems Accountant needed in Brentwood

This is a temporary role and the rate is £35.00ph PAYE

The successful candidate will lead the development, enhancement and smooth operation of the organisation’s corporate financial management systems, acting as a specialist advisor on financial controls, processes and reporting.

They will take ownership of key finance system projects and upgrades, ensuring progress is monitored, risks are managed and stakeholders are kept fully informed. They will manage system configuration, user access, testing and training, working collaboratively with Finance and ICT teams to deliver improvements, resolve technical issues and strengthen system reliability.

They will support core financial activities including budgeting, budgetary control, reconciliations, year‑end processes and financial reporting, applying strong analytical skills and professional judgement. Bringing experience of finance system implementations or transformation projects, they will demonstrate effective stakeholder engagement and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

The candidate will be AAT qualified, part‑qualified or fully qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent desirable), with the capability to drive high standards of financial governance and system performance.
