We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. About the RoleAs a Site Supervisor, you will:
- Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey. You will ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities. You will also carry out site inspections, coordinate crews from your depot, manage fleet issues, and evaluate employee performance.
- Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree the extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Encourage and enable personal development among team members.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
- Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all civil works activities, optimising resources with scheduling support.
- Manage the teams fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of works.
- Produce method statements and procedures; read and understand specifications, drawings, and other engineering documentation; keep records of all work completed; ensure client systems are updated in real time.
- Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with other departments and client management.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
- Provide clear instructions to the workforce and oversee daily team management.
- Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, and shoring designs.
- Ensure work crews are supplied with tools, equipment and materials; prevent wastage and misuse; supervise to optimise manpower and materials; maintain discipline at the work site.
- Familiar with HS&E and quality procedures and enforce them with the workforce.
- Identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce under supervision.
- Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid incidents and accidents.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Possess previous experience of supervision within the wastewater industry.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- This role involves managing people; previous managerial experience is essential. We aspire to get the best out of all our employees and you will be key to this.
- Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to deliver tasks to deadlines.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving targets.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving results.
- Proven experience in a previous supervisory role within the utilities sector – preferably in the drainage industry.
- Shift pattern:
Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week - Location:
Rotherham and surrounding regional areas - Salary: £38,000 - £42,000
- Company Car / Car allowance
- 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
