Senior EHS Specialist
Duration: 12 months
Location: Raynham, MA 02767 (100% Onsite; Travel to Bridgewater, MA ~5%)
Position Summary
The Senior EHS Specialist will provide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) support and technical expertise for Client's Raynham and Bridgewater Med Tech facilities. Under general supervision, this role leads and implements Safety programs aligned with Med Tech goals and strategies. The individual will develop and maintain strong processes to identify, evaluate, and control workplace safety risks. This position partners with business groups across Operations, R&D, and Office functions to deliver expert guidance, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Client EHS Standards.
The Senior EHS Specialist will conduct comprehensive assessments, analyze safety data, and influence strategic change across the site. They will serve as a key contributor on cross-functional teams providing practical and innovative solutions to safety challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge of applicable local and government safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and reporting requirements.
- Connect with site business leaders regarding safety policies, compliance practices, and emerging issues.
- Coordinate site committees and teams (incident response, EHS champions, lab safety, site inspections) to develop and implement Safety practices.
- Provide technical Safety support through the Management of Change (MOC) process for facility construction, equipment purchases, and new product development initiatives.
- Lead planning and deployment of the electronic permit-to-work (ePTW) project targeted for October 2024.
- Implement contractor safety and permit-to-work programs to evaluate risks and establish effective controls.
- Develop and deliver technical safety and awareness training that aligns with the company's hazard/risk profile.
- Conduct annual program reviews, identify deficiencies, develop management action plans, and monitor implementation.
- Perform internal audits for safety compliance and drive corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or specialized degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related science preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in EHS, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene.
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace risks.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Demonstrated project leadership skills with ability to maintain schedules and budgets.
- Excellent planning, communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and ability to generate reports, charts, and presentations.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with EHS data reporting and tracking systems.
- Technical experience in contractor safety, ergonomics, electrical safety, machine safety, biosafety, or related domains.
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing or production environments.
Physical Requirements
- Up to 6 hours/day computer work; up to 4 hours/day walking or standing.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work in production floor/facility environments.
- Ability to wear required PPE (Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection).
- Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene equipment (noise dosimeters, sampling pumps, databases, etc.).
Travel Requirement
Up to 5% domestic travel, including regular visits to Bridgewater, MA.
