Responsibilities
- Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
- Evaluate the performance of personnel in the Accounting Department.
- Recommend training requirements and keep the staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives; maintain the company's system of accounts and keep books and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly financial forecasts.
- Plan and comply with all federal, state, and local corporate and other applicable taxes.
- Submit all monthly, quarterly, and annual year-end financial reporting accurately and on time.
- Furnish internal and external reports and revise and update them as necessary to be more useful and efficient.
- Keep the General Manager informed of Divisions performance and provide advice on all financial matters.
- Coordinate the Division's Information Technology Services; work with Corporate IT to ensure security and reliability of resources.
- Manage asset allocation, including inventory at all stages of product completion, accounts receivable, and cash, to ensure optimal utilization of the Division's assets.
- Maintain financial integrity by overseeing internal control processes and internal auditing procedures.
- Manage working capital, including credit and collection.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining product-pricing policies.
- Analyze both strategic and tactical activities of the Division.
- Experience in manufacturing operations: 5+ years.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word);
Max MRP experience a plus but not necessary. - Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus three years' experience as a controller in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Solid understanding of standard cost accounting processes and procedures, including development and monitoring of standard costs.
- Solid understanding of inventory management, including monitoring and control of shrinkage and obsolescence.
