As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers, help them find the right products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met.
While spending most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department.
Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments—Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services—based on hiring needs and skillsets.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise on time.
- Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- 6 months experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets.
- Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
- Minimally lift 25 lb unassisted or over 25 lb with or without accommodation.
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn & garden, lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, it may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates—including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions—is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises and to moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates follow guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 lb. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 lb or when needed. Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Pay Range: $16.50 – $17.20 per hour.
