Architect – Commercial (Director of Recruiting, Verve Search Group)

Verve Search Group is working with a well-established multi-site retail operator is seeking a seasoned Architect with approximately 10–15 years of professional experience. The organization manages a large portfolio of commercial and food-service locations across the Northeast, along with several development sites, and is looking for a detail-oriented professional to support ongoing expansion and renovation initiatives.

This role requires someone who can work independently, confidently develop construction-ready drawings, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, experience with both wood and steel commercial construction, and a solid understanding of permitting processes and regulatory requirements.

• Contribute to projects from early conceptual phases through completion and closeout.
• Collaborate daily with internal architecture, construction, and project management teams.
• Produce comprehensive design and construction document sets suitable for bidding and building.
• Coordinate with outside engineers, consultants, and vendors as needed.
• Support construction administration activities, including site visits and project oversight.
• Participate in brand-related coordination, including virtual meetings and design reviews.
• Conduct research on local building codes, zoning requirements, and permitting processes.
• Food-service project experience is helpful but not required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Sketch Up or Photoshop is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited architectural program.
• Architectural license or active pursuit of licensure; NCARB certification preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to travel to various project sites as needed (company vehicle provided).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving and background requirements.
• Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
