Position Overview

JGM is looking for a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in various construction tasks, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

* Assist skilled tradespeople in performing their duties.

* Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.

* Prepare construction sites by cleaning and removing hazards.

* Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.

* Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with team members.

* Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

* Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment.

* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.

* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.

* Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

* Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job

* Perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, using hands and fingers, and reaching with hands and arms.

* Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds properly and safely.

* Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.

* Climb stepladders, extension ladders, and stairs, and work from raised platforms.

* Safely and properly operate tools and equipment, including drills, welding equipment, saws, levels, wrenches, hammers, and other standard construction tools.

* Operate high reaches, scissor lifts, fork trucks, or cranes when properly trained.

* Work may be performed in outdoor environments and in all weather conditions.

* Exposure to loud noise, fumes, odors, and potentially hazardous materials or substances such as lead-based paint or asbestos, particularly in confined spaces.

* Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respiratory protection as needed.

* Maintain situational awareness and exercise caution to identify and avoid potential hazards, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
