The role
We're looking for a Management Accountant to join our growing Audit and Accounts team in our Borehamwood office.
Responsibilities- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, providing analysis and designated reports.
- Bookkeeping and VAT reporting to a high standard.
- Cashflow reporting and forecasting.
- Month and quarter end adjustments and reconciliations.
- Preparing ad‑hoc reports for clients as required.
- Providing support and training to junior members of staff where required.
You're technically strong and confident without relying on jargon. You build trust by making complex matters easy to understand.
You're organised, proactive, and take ownership of your work. You're comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines, and know how to prioritise effectively.
You communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally, and are confident dealing directly with clients.
You enjoy working in a collaborative team where knowledge is shared openly and people support one another.
- AAT Qualified or Part Qualified (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working as a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant, ideally within a professional services firm.
- Intermediate to advanced experience of bookkeeping and producing monthly management accounts, specifically including prepayments, accruals, depreciation, accrued income and deferred income.
- Knowledge of cashflow reports and forecasts is desirable.
- Experience dealing with a varied and demanding client base across telephone, email and face‑to‑face communication.
- Strong knowledge of Xero, Sage Line 50 and Microsoft Excel.
- Up to date knowledge of accounting and taxation practices and current developments.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload effectively.
- A commercially minded outlook with the professionalism and confidence to build strong relationships through credibility, trust and mutual respect.
