Location: Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Reporting Manager to join a growing Financial Reporting team based in Reading. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from owner‑managed businesses to large international groups, you will lead the delivery of statutory reporting engagements, provide technical accounting expertise, and support clients through complex financial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities Client Service & Financial Reporting- Manage a portfolio of financial reporting and statutory accounts engagements across a range of sectors.
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements under UK GAAP (FRS 102, FRS 101) and IFRS.
- Advise clients on complex accounting matters, including business combinations, group restructures, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instruments.
- Support clients with year‑end reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Act as a trusted adviser, building strong, long‑term client relationships.
- Plan, budget, and monitor assignments to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with audit, tax, and advisory teams to provide integrated client solutions.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining high‑quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Manage, coach, and develop junior team members, including providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
- Review work completed by seniors and assistants, ensuring compliance with firm methodology and accounting standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives within the team
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, Companies Act requirements, and reporting developments.
- Act as a technical resource for colleagues and clients.
- Contribute to internal training sessions and technical updates.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services to existing clients.
- Support proposals, tenders, and presentations for new business opportunities.
- Develop networks within the local business community and professional contacts.
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- Significant experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for complex entities and groups.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high‑quality service.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management and organisational abilities.
- Experience working with international groups.
- Knowledge of listed company reporting requirements.
- Exposure to transaction‑related accounting support.
- Experience with reporting software and modern accounting systems.
