This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious accountant with a strong technical background, ideally gained within a Top 20 accountancy practice. The role would suit someone with an audit background who has experience in M&A and is now looking for greater variety, flexibility and work-life balance within a collaborative and fast-growing specialist firm. The Company Our client is a boutique accounting and financial reporting advisory firm supporting a diverse range of businesses, from fast-growing private equity-backed organisations to listed companies and large multinational groups.
The specialist team works with clients to solve complex challenges across technical accounting, financial reporting, financial modelling and finance operations. Acting as an extension of clients' finance teams, the firm provides hands-on technical expertise and support during periods of growth, transformation and change.
The Role As Technical Accounting & Valuations Manager, you will lead and deliver a broad range of complex accounting projects for an ever-growing and diverse client base. You will work closely with clients to understand their challenges, provide practical technical advice and deliver high-quality solutions. Projects may include:
Technical accounting advice and support Share-based payment accounting Preparation and review of listed company financial statements Acquisition accounting and business combinations Complex accounting analysis and technical documentation Financial reporting projects arising from business growth, transactions and transformation You will take ownership of projects from initial planning through to successful completion, while supporting Business Directors and senior engagement teams. You will also coach and develop junior members of the team and contribute to the continued growth and development of the firm.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage complex technical accounting projects from planning through to completion Provide clear, practical and commercially focused technical accounting advice to clients Prepare and review technical accounting papers, reports and supporting documentation Lead on complex and judgemental areas of client work Present technical findings, conclusions and recommendations clearly to clients Work closely with Business Directors and senior engagement teams to deliver high-quality client outcomes Coach, mentor and review the work of trainees and junior team members Identify opportunities to improve processes, technical methodologies and client delivery Take initiative and contribute to the continued development and growth of the business Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and support the wider team with technical learning and development About You You will be a technically minded and commercially aware qualified accountant with a passion for solving complex accounting challenges and delivering high-quality client work.
ACA Qualified Experience gained within a Top 20 accountancy practice A strong technical accounting background and likely to have spent some of your career in audit
Experience of managing client engagements or technical accounting projects from planning through to completion
Experience of preparing technical accounting papers, reports and supporting documentation The confidence to communicate and present complex technical matters clearly to clients
Experience of coaching, developing and delegating work to junior team members Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail The confidence to challenge existing approaches and contribute new ideas A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach If you are a technically strong qualified accountant looking to broaden your experience and take ownership of complex, high-profile accounting projects, we would be keen to hear from you.
