Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Finance

Orka Financial is currently partnering with a technology business based in Reading that is looking to recruit an Accountant to join the team. The role sits in a small team and reports into the Finance Manager. The Accountant has responsibility for supporting the finance function and business in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting by preparing balance sheet reconciliations month-end close tasks and maintaining strong financial controls.

Duties include

Financial reporting for month end close ensuring deadlines are met

Preparing and posting journal entries including accruals and prepayments

Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts

Preparing timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations ensuring reconciliations have appropriate supporting documentation

Maintenance and reporting of fixed asset registers including recording depreciation

Supporting for all internal and external audits providing supporting documentation for all general ledger balances

Preparing and submitting tax related reporting

Assisting the finance function with financial analysis and reporting

This is a varied role that would suit a part qualified Accountant who has a strong grounding in finance who is looking to progress. Strong systems skills are required and Power BI would be advantageous. You will be adaptable and happy to work in a broad role that can offer great experience.

The role is based in Reading and operates hybrid working.
