Accounts Assistant

Location: Office Based in Reading
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Reed Accountancy are delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Payable Assistant on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous accounts payable or finance experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Working as part of a finance team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, ensuring supplier invoices and employee expenses are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable function alongside another team member, including preparing and processing payment runs.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and ensure the timely payment of creditors.
• Maintain financial spreadsheets and accounting records.
• Review, process and reconcile employee expense claims in line with company policy.
• Assist with month-end reconciliations and reporting activities.
• Administer and maintain company fuel card records and transactions.
• Provide general finance and administrative support to the wider team.
• Support the business with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a finance, accounts payable or similar accounting alongside a good understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial compliance procedures.

Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, accruals and prepayments as well as Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and other financial functions would be highly advantageous.
