Financial Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-established and successful manufacturing business in Chesterfield as they look to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their established finance team. This is a newly created role due to continued business growth and the evolving responsibilities of the Financial Controller. You’ll join a friendly finance team of four and take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting and reporting activities, working closely with an experienced Financial Controller.

This is a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or AAT-qualified finance professional looking for a varied role with plenty of responsibility and the opportunity to develop within a growing business. Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm | Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm

The Role As Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for a varied range of duties including:
Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting month-end processes Taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments Supporting statutory accounts and year-end reporting Assisting with external audit requirements Supporting cash flow forecasting and wider financial planning Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls Supporting the Financial Controller with analysis, reporting and projects Assisting with budgeting and forecasting where required Providing financial information and support to colleagues and stakeholders across the business About You They are looking for someone with strong financial accounting experience who enjoys working in a hands-on and collaborative environment.

You will ideally have: ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified status, or be AAT qualified Experience across financial accounting, month-end and balance sheet reconciliations The ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail Good Excel and financial systems knowledge Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business A proactive approach with an interest in improving processes and taking on additional responsibilities This is a fantastic Financial Accountant opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a broad finance role, work closely with an experienced Financial Controller and develop their career within a growing manufacturing business.
