Receptionist (Florey Sexual Health Clinic) – NHS AfC:
Band 2 – Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week. Shifts between 07:00-19:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00-13:00 Saturday.

Job Overview

Band 2 Receptionist (Florey Sexual Health Clinic). The receptionist is the first point of contact within our busy and sensitive service, requiring a friendly, unprejudiced, sympathetic, mature attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels. We are looking for a team player with great communication and customer service skills and a positive attitude towards work.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a confident and reliable individual who is flexible and adapts well to change. This role will involve booking appointments, greeting patients, and carrying out an effective telephone triage booking service. You will be required to work individually and also within a team.

To be considered for this post you will need GCSE or an equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics and be computer literate. Previous NHS experience is not required, but customer-facing experience is desired.

Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The receptionist will perform complex administrative functions and be responsible for receiving patients and visitors attending outpatient clinics, taking ownership of escalated administrative issues where appropriate. The receptionist works in close partnership with medical, nursing and administrative staff to ensure the smooth running of the outpatients department.   • Experience with in a customer service setting
  • Experience of note management
  • Previous experience of working with databases and maintaining data quality

  • Reception experience
  • Experience with in an NHS administration environment
  • Experience of working with clients of differing healthcare needs
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
