An exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive person to join Community Dental Service (CDS) as an Administrator. The post holder will work closely with other administrative and clinical staff within the Community Dental Service. The post holder will be expected to liaise effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and members of the public and undertake reception duties to support the team and assist with booking patient appointments.
The dental software currently used is Sensei and full training will be provided. The post holder will also be expected to centrally co-ordinate administrative duties if required and be flexible to support other sites during periods of increased demand, staff shortage or service demands.
We are looking for someone with experience of administration, ideally within the NHS.
Working time: 30 hours per week. To be worked over 5 days Monday-Friday or 4 days 0830am - 5pm including a Monday. Base:

The service has 7 clinics ranging from Thatcham to Langley and over 40 members of staff. The service treats patients with additional needs including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly. In addition, we also provide primary dental care for patients not registered or unable to receive emergency care with General dental practitioner via 111. This service is provided on weekends, weekdays and bank holidays.
Mainduties of the job
Provide a comprehensive administrative service to the Community Dental Service (CDS), supporting both clinical and non-clinical teams.
Undertake reception duties including greeting patients, managing enquiries, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
Book, amend, and manage patient appointments using the Sensei dental software system (training provided).
Liaise effectively with clinicians, administrative staff, patients, carers, and external agencies, ensuring clear and professional communication at all times.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all data is recorded in line with data protection and confidentiality standards.
Support the coordination of central administrative functions, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and within required time frames.
Prioritise workload effectively, responding to changing service demands and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Provide administrative cover across CDS sites as required, supporting service continuity during staff shortages or increased demand.
Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and NHS standards, including confidentiality, safeguarding, and health & safety.
