The Role

The Product Manager is responsible for the product vision through to implementation alongside our development teams. They will work with business development teams to identify product-market fit, engage with prospects and customers to deeply understand the problems they have and how we can help solve these problems. They will become the expert on how clients use the product and evangelise their products internally and with clients.

They will use client feedback, metrics and research to identify and prioritise opportunities for delivering enhancements and new product ideas.

Based on the wider product strategy and input from commercial and technical teams, the Product Manager will define a long-term vision for the product, convey this to the wider business, and propose new initiatives to grow the value proposition of their products while at the same time making meaningful progress towards their longer term vision for the product or products.

Once the vision is defined; the Product Manager will play a crucial part in product delivery. They will fulfil the product owner role within one or more agile delivery teams, creating a shared understanding of client needs. They will define the priorities and clear acceptance criteria for designing and implementing new features and improvements. They will be responsible for prioritisation and will strive to find the right balance between maintenance, customer requests, and advancing the strategic product roadmap.

The Product Manager will motivate technical teams by being the voice of the customer. They will share client insights, needs, frustrations, successes and failures with the team to inspire a culture of creative problem solving. They will hold themselves and the team accountable for delivering client value and will use excellent communication skills to ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept up-to-date throughout product delivery.

Rather than simply adopting a "Clients say they want this so we did it" mindset, they will strategically evaluate how small requests add up to something bigger over time.
