We’re partnering with a leading Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a high-profile, long-term infrastructure programme s is a fantastic opportunity to work on a secure, technically complex project within a highly regulated environment.
The role would suit a commercially astute QS who is comfortable working on large-scale infrastructure works, understands robust governance, and enjoys working closely with delivery teams to maintain commercial control from start to finish.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you’ll provide full commercial support to a live AWE project, ensuring cost control, contractual compliance and accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll be responsible for managing subcontract packages, administering the main contract, and working closely with both internal stakeholders and the client to manage change, mitigate risk and maximise commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
* Maintain accurate cost, value and cashflow reporting
* Produce forecasts, CVRs and commercial reports in line with project requirements
* Monitor cost performance and support the delivery team to drive efficiencies
* Manage earned value and cost-to-complete forecasting
Contracts & Change Control
* Administer the main contract (typically NEC-based) in line with project governance
* Manage variations, compensation events and change control processes
* Prepare and agree applications for payment
* Support the preparation and negotiation of final accounts
Supply Chain Management
* Procure subcontract packages and manage commercial performance
* Negotiate subcontract terms and ensure flow-down of main contract conditions
* Certify payments, manage accruals and control subcontractor spend
Stakeholder Interface
* Liaise with the client, consultants and wider project team on commercial matters
* Build strong working relationships in a secure and highly regulated environment
* Work closely with site teams to align commercial and delivery objectives
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure/civils projects
* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
* Experience managing subcontractors and commercial reporting
* Confident communicator with strong numerical and analytical skills
* Ability to work within structured, compliance-driven environments
Desirable:
* Previous experience on AWE or similar regulated projects (defence, nuclear, energy)
* Membership of RICS or working towards chartership
* Security Clearance would be desirable
* Valid CSCS card
* Experience working on long-term framework or alliance projects
