Reading, Berkshire Hours of work: 37.5 hours Monday-Friday, Hybrid Working Available - Please note the role will require you to be mainly site based

The role:

We are looking for a commercially strong Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to provide a broader cost-management function.

Candidates should have:
* Strong contractor-side commercial and cost-management experience.
* Detailed practical knowledge of NEC4, including Compensation Events, quotations, Defined Cost, forecasting, and change management.
* The ability to undertake estimating and cost planning, including preparation and review of estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
* Strong cost-management and cost-control capability throughout the project lifecycle.
* Experience of subcontract procurement and management, cost/value reconciliation, applications, final accounts, and commercial reporting.
* An understanding of project controls and the relationship between cost, programme, change, risk, and forecasting.
* Ability to work closely with Project Managers and project controls personnel to provide accurate and timely project information.
* Good IT and systems skills, particularly Excel and other construction/commercial management systems.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate cost and project information.
* Good client-facing, communication, and collaborative-working skills.
* Nuclear, defence or other secure / highly regulated sector experience is preferred.

Desirable:
* Experience of CEMAR or similar NEC contract management systems would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, commercially aware, comfortable working with project controls and capable of building strong relationships with the client and wider project team.
