Are you a Design Manager looking to play a key role in winning major construction projects?
A leading national main contractor is seeking a Design Manager to join its established pre-construction team in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a range of secured frameworks and high-profile projects, helping shape bids from concept through to submission.

The Role
As Design Manager, you will lead and coordinate the design process throughout the tender phase, ensuring proposals are compliant, buildable, commercially competitive, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
 
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams during the tender stage.
 
* Review client requirements and develop compliant, buildable design solutions.
 
* Work closely with bid, planning, and commercial teams to produce winning submissions.
 
* Manage design risks, opportunities, and value engineering initiatives.
 
* Coordinate consultants and supply chain partners.
 
* Ensure technical information is delivered accurately and in line with tender programmes.
About You
 
* Minimum 2 years' design experience within a contractor, subcontractor, or consultancy environment.
 
* Strong understanding of construction and design management processes.
 
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
 
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
