Overview

of role :

Assist in supporting individual pupils and small groups under the direction of the class teacher deliver targeted class support and interventions and participate in relevant TA meetings and training sessions.

• Hours :
  Monday to Friday (8.45am to 3.15pm) 30 hours per week
• Term-time only (39 weeks per year)
• Wage : 7.55 per hour

Apprenticeship details :

• Qualification :
  Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
• Duration of course : 16 months
• Training Provider : LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK!)
• All learning delivered online / remotely alongside placement at school.

Full Duties and Responsibilities :

• Support learning for individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of the classroom teacher and Inclusion team.
• Assist with implementing lesson plans and facilitating more ambitious learning activities.
• Deliver class support and targeted interventions.
• Undertake agreed activities and strategies for individual pupils and small groups.
• Collaborate with the teacher on individual and group programmes of work aligning with pupil targets and devising strategies to meet them.
• Assist in liaising with other professionals maintaining confidentiality.
• Contribute to pupil observation record keeping and assessment.
• Monitor record and analyse pupil data (e.g. worksheets) at the teachers request.
• Organise and collate pupil reports as required.
• Attend TA / staff meetings planning sessions and training where applicable.
• Support school events and special occasions in the schools annual calendar (if applicable).
• Assist with classroom administrative tasks (e.g. photocopying).
• Support pupils on educational trips (if applicable) and provide First Aid and / or playground supervision during lunch or breaks (if required).

• Strong questioning and observation skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Clear understanding of the role in assisting and supervising pupils during specific tasks
• Capable of managing general classroom housekeeping and supervising pupils during clean-up activities

Qualifications Requirements :

• GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade
  4) essential
• GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade
  4) essential
