Groveside School is looking for a dynamic Sports Coach who can bring enthusiasm, creativity and compassion to our pupils every single day. What you will be doing
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and safe sports sessions for individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Support teachers and tutors to ensure all pupils can access physical activity confidently and independently.
  • Use sport to build positive, restorative relationships with pupils, including those with autism, SEMH needs and other additional needs.
  • Promote teamwork, resilience, communication and self-esteem through structured physical activity.
  • Create a safe, stimulating and respectful environment rooted in mutual trust.
  • Adapt activities to meet the strengths, needs and interests of all pupils.
  • Support school sports events, clubs, competitions and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain equipment, resources and activity spaces to a high standard.
  • Provide feedback on pupil engagement, behaviour and progress.
What you will bring
  • Minimum Level 2 sports coaching or equivalent required
  • Thrive in a fun, energetic and sometimes challenging environment.
  • Have a passion for building strong, restorative relationships with young people.
  • Be resilient, approachable and calm under pressure.
  • Be creative and committed to bringing out the best in every pupil.
  • Understand the needs of pupils with SEND, autism and SEMH, or be eager to learn.
  • Driving licence required
About Us

Groveside School is a Special Educational Needs School for pupils aged 7–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils. We offer a passionate, supportive environment with a focus on inclusive education and professional development.
