Pastoral Intervention Leader (ReFocus) - The Wren School

Location:

Reading

37 hours per week (08:15am to 4:15pm), term‑time only, plus 5 Inset days – Permanent – Starting from September 2026.

The Pastoral Intervention Leader (ReFocus) works with individuals or small groups of students identifying underlying barriers to learning and then designing structured intervention pathways to support re‑engagement with school life.

They work closely with students, families, teaching and pastoral teams to coordinate and deliver tailored programmes that promote regulation, positive behaviour and sustained participation in learning.

The role involves leading on planning, monitoring and evaluating interventions to ensure effective outcomes and consistent communication across teams.

As a visible presence around the school, they build strong, supportive relationships, model the school’s values and contribute to a calm, inclusive and aspirational environment.

Successful candidates will join an experienced and supportive team that is passionate about helping young people thrive, both academically and personally, through leading and delivering targeted student interventions.
