The School District of Baraboo is seeking applicants for an Interventionist for the school year. The Reading Interventionist will support a tiered approach assisting learners to access prerequisite skills needed to work toward essential learning standards. This position will work directly with educational staff to design scaffolded or differentiated instruction and provide learning opportunities in a push-in and/or pull-out model with small groups of students at the Elementary School level.
Additionally, this position will collaborate with educational staff and instructional coaches to facilitate individual and group professional learning to expand and refine teacher understanding about actionable practices to culturally and linguistically responsive, standards- based instruction. This position holds a 194-working day contract.

QualificationsCandidates will need to hold a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification (#316) and at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; though a Master’s degree is preferred. Additionally, the preferred candidate will have a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience and have experience with coaching, mentoring and/or other teacher leadership work. In addition, the candidate must display organizational skills, knowledge of best practices and data-driven teaching strategies, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
The candidate must have a desire to build strong relationships, cultivate a sense of belonging, and have a working knowledge of the tenets of a collaborative professional learning community. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in culturally responsive teaching and equity.
Payroll is on the 15th and last day of the month.
District DescriptionThe School District of Baraboo is an EC-12 grade district with a 4K program, five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school with a total student population of 2,700 students. The District employs approximately 255 certified teachers and 175 non-certified staff. Baraboo is located in Sauk County and is among the most scenic areas in the state!
