About the Role
Are you a passionate Maths Teacher who wants to make a genuine difference to young people who need a different approach to learning.
At Groveside School, we’re looking for an inspiring and resilient Maths Teacher to join our supportive team and help our pupils discover their potential.
This is an opportunity to do more than deliver lessons. You’ll build meaningful relationships, create engaging learning experiences and adapt your teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH and challenging behaviours.

What you will be doing
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual needs, abilities and learning styles.
- Monitor and assess progress, using data and other strategies to identify next steps and raise achievement.
- Develop personalised learning and behaviour plans alongside colleagues and other professionals.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.
- Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and self-regulation through positive and restorative approaches.
- Work collaboratively with Teachers, Learning Support Assistants, Care and other professionals to provide consistent support.
- Contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum and wider school improvement priorities.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, communication, record keeping and pupil wellbeing.
What you will bring
We’re looking for a qualified and inspirational teacher who can combine high expectations with patience, creativity and compassion.
- QTS qualification or equivalent required
- Experience teaching Maths and working with pupils with SEND, ASD, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour.
- The resilience and confidence to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve more than they thought possible.
- The ability to work independently while being a committed member of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and the wider development of every pupil.
About Us
Groveside School is a Special Educational Needs School for Pupils 7 - 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Our school opened in September 2024 and will cater for 60 pupils.
