We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Employability Skills Tutor to lead the planning, delivery and development of our City & Guilds Employability Skills programme.
The role will support young people to develop the practical, personal and vocational skills needed for further education, training, employment and adulthood. Learning will be delivered through engaging, practical and individualised sessions, enabling learners to develop and evidence meaningful employability skills.
The successful candidate will have experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and be confident adapting learning to individual ability, EHCP outcomes and identified goals.
Sessions are predominantly delivered individually or in small groups, typically at a maximum 5:1 learner-to-staff ratio, within our therapeutic farm and outdoor learning environments.

Across our Farm and Paddock forest provision, we provide bespoke learning opportunities for children and young people who may experience barriers to accessing traditional education.

Key Responsibilities City & Guilds Employability Skills- Lead the planning and delivery of City & Guilds Employability Skills qualifications at appropriate Entry Levels.
- Develop structured, engaging learning opportunities that enable learners to achieve units and qualifications.
- Manage learner portfolios and ensure appropriate evidence is gathered to demonstrate achievement.
- Maintain accurate records of registration, progress, assessment and accreditation.
- Ensure delivery and assessment meet City & Guilds requirements and internal quality assurance processes.
- Adapt and scaffold learning for learners with SEN, SEMH and additional support needs.
- Plan and deliver differentiated employability and vocational learning based on individual ability and need.
- Link learning to EHCP outcomes, personal development targets and progression goals where appropriate.
- Use practical and interest-led learning to increase engagement and develop meaningful employability skills.
- Monitor learner progress and identify appropriate next steps.
- Maintain clear records of learning, engagement and achievement.
- Contribute to learner reports, reviews and professional meetings where required.
- Support learners to develop skills required for education, employment, apprenticeships, training and adulthood.
- Deliver practical learning covering communication, teamwork, workplace behaviours, personal presentation, CVs and applications, interview preparation, problem-solving, organisation, money skills, independence and responsibility.
- Support learners to explore realistic careers and progression pathways.
- Facilitate access to careers resources and platforms, including Unifrog.
- Develop links with employers, colleges and other organisations to increase understanding of future opportunities.
- Support enterprise and work-related learning opportunities within the provision.
- Work within Stable Futures' therapeutic and child-centred approach.
- Build positive and professional relationships with learners.
- Support confidence, resilience, independence and emotional regulation.
