Marine Water Quality Officer
We need a Marine Water Quality Officer to support evidence‑based decisions related to marine water quality, modelling and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Review reports and summarize key information for decision‑making.
- Use data to inform water quality models and support environmental protection.
- Interpret monitoring data and model outputs, summarise and communicate technical work, and elevate challenges when needed.
- Build strong relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners.
- Take part in incident response and incident management duties, with training and support.
- Apply sound records management principles.
- Use your initiative to contribute to the team and wider organisation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; professional membership desirable.
- Experience in data analysis and familiarity with modelling software.
- Proficiency in Excel, Access, R, Power‑BI, GIS and specialist packages such as Mike or Cormix.
- Strong communication skills – able to convey complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual team and travel for national meetings.
- Comfortable with incident response and flexible arrangements.
Position is full‑time, permanent or six‑month fixed‑term. Flexible/hybrid working with some travel required. Training and development opportunities will be provided.
