We are seeking a Senior Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist with strong technical capability and proven experience in cladding remediation and retrofit projects. The role will suit a confident Revit user who can lead technical design packages, coordinate consultants, and support compliance with current Building Safety legislation and Gateway processes. This is a hands-on technical role, working closely with project teams, clients, and contractors across residential and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver technical design packages for cladding remediation and retrofit projects
* Produce and coordinate detailed Revit models, drawings, and specifications
* Ensure designs comply with Building Safety Act 2022 and associated secondary legislation
* Support and undertake duties relating to BRPD (Building Regulations Principal Designer) where required
* Prepare and contribute to submissions for the Gateway 1, 2 and 3 process
* Coordinate external consultants and specialist subcontractor design information
* Review contractor proposals, technical details, and materials
* Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and regulatory risks
* Support junior team members and contribute to technical reviews
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory bodies as required
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Qualified Architect or Architectural Technologist
* Strong Revit proficiency (essential)
* 3–5 years’ experience in cladding remediation, façade replacement, or retrofit projects
* Technically sound with excellent knowledge of construction detailing
* Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022
* Familiarity with the Gateway process
* Understanding of BRPD responsibilities and design risk management
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
* Strong communication and coordination skills
Desirable
* Experience working on Higher-Risk Buildings
* Previous involvement in BRPD roles or support functions
* Knowledge of fire safety strategies, façade systems, and compliance pathways
* Immediate or short-notice availability
