Asset Planning Apprentice

Ready to kick-start your future in Asset Planning? Join us as a Level 4 Apprentice and make a real impact at the UK’s largest water and wastewater provider. You’ll gain hands-on experience, work alongside skilled professionals, and earn a respected Level 4 Asset Manager qualification.
What you’ll be doing as an Asset Planning Apprentice- Assist in developing asset plans for treatment works, pumping stations, and networks in line with AMP8 priorities
- Analyse asset performance data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
- Support capital maintenance planning and project prioritisation to meet regulatory and sustainability goals
- Contribute to risk-based decision-making for asset interventions
- Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Office and Thames Water’s asset management systems
- Take part in site visits, inspections, and planning meetings
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Hours:
36 hours a week across four working days plus one off-the-job training day
Start date:
September 2026
You’ll study with Teesside University, one of the UK’s leading Asset Management training providers. Your training will include modules delivered through weekly online tutorials, supported by pre-session learning materials such as recorded videos, lecture notes, and case studies.
Qualification:
Asset Manager Level 4 Asset Management Standard - Certificate of Higher Education in Asset Management Included
Duration:
Permanent contract with a 24-month structured programme.
- GCSE Maths and English (grade 9-4 / A-C) or equivalent
- 64 points from any combination of acceptable level 3 qualifications
- Ability to travel to Thames Water sites throughout the programme
- Excellent salary: £22,500 annum
- Annual Leave: 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with the length of service (plus bank holidays)
