Responsibilities- Assist in planning, designing, and managing civil engineering projects across Thames Water’s network.
- Prepare and update engineering diagrams, documents, and specifications using CAD and other tools.
- Collect and analyse technical data to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Ensure work meets health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and sustainability goals.
- Support quality, budget, and schedule management using project systems.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and customers.
- Build skills in line with professional codes and industry standards.
Clearwater Court, Reading
Hybrid work: 36‑hour week over four working days plus one training day.

Training:
On‑site training with LSBU – one day per week in central London and a 3‑day field trip during the first year.
Qualification:
BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering.
- Hold 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 9–4 / A–C).
- Hold one of the following: A‑Levels with 112 UCAS points including Maths and either Chemistry or Physics; a T‑Level in Design, Surveying & Planning with a minimum Merit (120 UCAS points); a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering with DDM including Maths and Further Maths (128 UCAS points); or a Civil Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship with DD (96 UCAS points).
- Travel across Thames Water sites required.
- Salary: £23 500 per annum.
- Annual leave: 24 days per year, increasing to 28 after length of service (plus bank holidays).
