Job Title: Programme Technical Manager (Water/Wastewater)
Location: Thames Water Region (Hybrid – 2–3 days office/site)
Salary: Up to £89,000 + £5,800 Car Allowance
Shift Type: Monday – Friday (36 hours)

The OpportunityWe are supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation in appointing two Programme Technical Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale water and wastewater treatment programmes valued between £500m – £1bn.
This is a senior leadership role with real influence—shaping technical strategy, driving performance across multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering critical infrastructure that supports long‑term environmental and community resilience.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, from junior engineers through to principal level
- Take ownership of technical delivery across major infrastructure programmes from concept through to handover
- Ensure projects are delivered to time, cost, quality, and safety expectations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to manage risk and drive outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, partners, and regulatory bodies
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice across programme delivery
- Support strategic planning including business cases and technical project briefs
- Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with relevant professional membership
- Strong background in technical leadership within infrastructure, construction, or engineering environments
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Experience with risk/value management across the full project lifecycle
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop high‑performing teams
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting infrastructure delivery
- Water sector experience advantageous but not essential
