** Principal Bridge Engineer*
* ** Role Summary
** Experienced Senior / Principal Engineer providing technical leadership to deliver defined packages of bridge and structural engineering work. Accountable for quality, programme, and technical oversight within a multi-disciplinary team.

** Key Responsibilities*
* * Lead delivery of small to medium work packages (inspection, assessment, design, or renewal schemes) to programme and budget
* Provide technical direction, checking, and approval of designs, calculations, and reports
* Mentor and guide junior engineers; support capability within the team
* Act as a key interface with clients and internal disciplines
* Ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and governance processes
* Contribute to planning, risk management, and commercial awareness on projects
** Required Experience & Skills*
* * Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
* Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE / MIStructE)
* Strong background in bridge/structures design, assessment, or asset management
* Demonstrable experience leading technical delivery of projects
* Proficient in relevant design codes, analysis methods, and reporting
* Effective communicator with ability to work across disciplines
** Desirable*
* * Experience working with Local Authority or rail-related structures
* Familiarity with asset management systems and inspection regimes
