Building Services Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure routine maintenance is carried out for all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.
• Issue and ensure appropriate controls within Permit to Work systems.
• Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems in compliance with the L8 standard.
• Keep suitable spares available for maintenance of the above plant.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records in the form of task sheets.
• Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks conducted to ensure safe working practices.
• Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure they comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
• Develop good working relationships with all CBRE staff and clients staff.
• Provide a safe and healthy working environment and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and client site arrangements.
• Present a professional image of CBRE to clients and visitors, promoting excellence in customer service at all times.
• Maintain professional and technical skills through personal development and life‑learning commitments.
• Operate the site to a high Health & Safety standard with Engineering Excellence in mind.
• Initiate improvements in all areas of the business, including Energy, Projects and Maintenance.
• Respond to site engineering emergencies, carrying out planned preventive maintenance and reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels.

A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic mathematics skills.

Formally trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance.

Essential experience in maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.

Calm manner, able to work under pressure and make sound decisions when needed.

Able to work at heights.

Willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and flexible working patterns.
