Project Planner - Water Industry

Overview

Stantec is seeking a Project Planner to join the Major Projects Delivery team. The role focuses on delivering projects primarily within water sector Design & Construction (D&C) and involves developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, tracking progress, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to deliver on time and on budget. The role is based in Reading or Glasgow with hybrid working.

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Lead projects through all phases—from pre-construction and design to final delivery.
• Track progress, monitor performance, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders; provide value through consulting and knowledge sharing.
• Support governance, reporting, and change management within D&C in line with contract and client requirements.

• Experience managing complex projects and programs using Primavera P6.
• Ability to lead programs autonomously and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Solid understanding of D&C sequencing and interfaces.
• Familiarity with NEC 3 and NEC 4 contracts.
• Previous experience in the water sector is beneficial but not essential.
