, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: £49,480- £65,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
Working pattern:
Working Pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. For this role, employees are required to work fully onsite. We support flexible working arrangements where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, while maintaining an onsite presence. Let us introduce the roleAWE is currently recruiting for a Utilities Engineer – Electrical to support a variety of projects, upgrades and support tasks across the AWE estate.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong understanding of Electrical distribution systems. As a Utilities Engineer, you will deliver professional engineering services to AWE projects.

The successful candidate will provide support to the Delivery Manager by working with the Electrical Distribution Network Manager and Operations team to:

Facilitate and support the delivery of projects to proactively manage risk across the network

Provide and facilitate Network SME support to other projects across site Provide uninterrupted service to AWE’s operational site in support of our core mission

Support asset management of the AWE electrical distribution equipment across its full lifecycle.

Design and assure designs for substations, switch gear and other infrastructure comply with AWE technical specifications, engineering standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

Plan, design and manage deliver of network connections across a large, multi-site estate.

Lead and advise engineers within bounds of own specialism in the delivery of innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to demonstrate experience in the following:

Technical Apprenticeship or HNC/HND with suitable additional experience

Leading delivery of Utilities projects/works

Effective Stakeholder Management Construction / CDM experience

Finance management understanding

Identifying and delivering to technical and regulatory requirements

We’d like you to have experience in or an understanding of some of the following:

Primary Electrical Bias with experience across multiple disciplines.

Experience in Utility / building service delivery over a large portfolio.

Project Management qualification i.e. APMF/Q / Prince 2

An understanding of Formal Risk Management process

You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
