Interim Group Financial Controller

Apointe are partnering with a high-profile, complex, multi-entity organisation undergoing a significant period of transformation. As the business reshapes its operating model, systems and governance frameworks, they require an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller to lead Financial Operations.

This is a pivotal leadership assignment. You will take overall responsibility for financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, treasury and finance operations, while playing a central role in strengthening governance, driving efficiencies and shaping the future state finance function.

This is a high-impact, senior interim role requiring technical depth, credibility and strong leadership presence.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading financial reporting across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP (and IFRS where applicable)
• Strengthening internal controls, governance frameworks and risk management processes
• Managing and optimising cash flow, liquidity and working capital
• Overseeing consolidation and ensuring accurate and timely group reporting
• Leading external audit processes end-to-end and acting as primary liaison with auditors
• Driving finance transformation initiatives, including process redesign, workflow optimisation and system enhancement
• Partnering with IT and Operations on system integration and automation opportunities
• Supporting FP&A by ensuring robust processes and data integrity underpin management reporting
• Building and shaping a high-performing financial accounting team, raising standards and driving accountability

What we’re looking for:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience operating as a Group Financial Controller or senior finance leader in a complex, multi-entity environment
• Demonstrable track record of transforming finance functions — systems, process and operating model redesign
• Immediately available or available at short notice
