Purchase Ledger Manager

Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, market-leading organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a team of five while taking full ownership of the end to end Accounts Payable function.

As well as overseeing the day to day operations, you will look at ways to improve processes and make things run more efficiently. This role works closely with teams across the business, so strong communication is key.

Location:

Stockport + Hybrid

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Main duties:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five, setting objectives and managing workloads
Oversee end-to-end processing of invoices and employee expenses
Ensure compliance with company policies & VAT regulations
Resolve complex invoice, payment, or supplier issues
Maintain accurate supplier records, including new vendor setup
Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation / system implimentation
Act as escalation point for supplier issues
Prepare AP reports, manage month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and assist with cashflow forecasting

Person specification:

Proven experience managing Accounts Payable teams in medium to large organisations
Strong knowledge of invoice processing, payment cycles, VAT rules, and financial controls

Experience with accounting/ERP systems
Strong Excel skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Experienced in improving processes / ideally with experience supporting system implementation
