Job Description

We work with mid‑market companies on strategies for growth and exit, building relationships with our clients, becoming their trusted adviser and helping them to identify the appropriate transaction to facilitate growth, whether through private equity or debt funding solutions. We enable founders to exit or identify succession by finding the right trade partner or investor, or indeed to float through the public markets.

For this role you will support deal teams across tasks to prepare and take a business to market, executing and negotiating sell‑side and buy‑side transactions. You will employ multiple skillsets utilising your financial expertise and negotiation skills in the execution and completion of a deal. In addition to this you will be part of a collegiate and collaborative team who genuinely enjoy working and celebrating success together.

Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager or Manager within our Corporate Finance team, you will:

  • Play a key role in supporting transaction execution and contributing across multiple projects.
  • Have a major impact on our clients and our firm, upholding high‑level standards and quality.
  • Work on the full client project lifecycle, from opportunity sourcing to pitch and completion, working alongside peers and senior individuals (Directors and Partners).
  • Assist in collating and analysing financial and commercial data to support transactions.
  • Draft information memoranda and marketing materials as part of the sale process.
  • Prepare client presentations and pitch documents including credentials.
  • Assist in valuing companies, utilising public company comparisons, precedent transactions and discounted cash flow.
  • Be part of a close, dynamic Corporate Finance team and work with a variety of clients across sectors and regions, including the opportunity to work closely with one of our sector teams, developing industry‑specific expertise.
  • Have opportunities to develop yourself and others, driving your own development with the support of your people manager.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CA, CIPFA or CFA) or proven relevant experience in M&A, supported by a proven background in a similar role.
  • Experience gained within a UK professional services environment or a relevant UK advisory firm.
Skills
  • Competent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of financial statement analysis and financial modelling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resilient work ethic, organisational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong ambition with proven capability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the team in a rapidly changing, demanding and rewarding environment.
  • A solid understanding of quality and ethical practice in everything you do.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Experience of business development and targeting.
  • Active involvement in client relationship building.
