VAT Compliance Assistant Manager

Our Indirect Tax business continues to grow at a rapid pace, offering opportunities to hone your tax technical, project‑management and client‑service skills through interesting and complex assignments.

In this role you will:

• Deliver UK VAT advice to a range of clients, from small businesses to large organisations
• Build and manage your own advisory portfolio, working closely with a Director and Partner for support and guidance
• Serve as a proactive, independent professional who manages tasks while collaborating with colleagues, seniors and clients to help businesses achieve their goals
• Engage directly with HMRC and other relevant authorities to resolve client matters
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring detailed and accurate reporting and documentation

• Previous experience and interest in UK VAT
• Attention to detail and a clear communication style
• Willingness to develop and grow a professional network within the Reading office
• Experience dealing directly with HMRC
• CTA or equivalent qualification, or an equivalent commercial experience, either full or part qualified
