Working as a Barclays Private Banking Executive, you will assist the Private Banker / Wealth Manager in acquiring, onboarding, servicing, and retaining clients to meet business objectives. You will act as a key point of contact for clients on day‑to‑day operational matters and support the team and business in achieving its targets and goals. In this role you will also assist with marketing banking and investment products to clients and collaborate with Operations and other support functions to enhance the client experience.

The position is based in Southampton, with Bournemouth and Reading also considered.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Private Banker or Wealth Manager in acquiring, onboarding, servicing, and retaining clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on day‑to‑day operational matters, including complex requests related to onboarding, banking transactions, investments, credit and digital solutions.
  • Lead client service review visits and support the improvement of the client experience.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relationship managers and other internal teams to ensure a seamless end‑to‑end client experience.
  • Serve as the liaison between relationship teams and support/specialist teams for new account queries and complex servicing requests.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements and support relationship managers with risk‑related activities.
  • Identify, resolve and escalation of gaps in policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Embed new policies and procedures arising from risk mitigation.
  • Advise and influence decision making within your area of expertise.
  • Take responsibility for the operational processing and outcomes of your team's activities.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders and foster trust across internal and client groups.
  • Collaborate with operations, business management, and other stakeholders to deliver high‑quality client support, documentation and annual reviews.
  • Support the team in business acquisition, marketing, and client retention initiatives.
  • Ensure timely delivery of tasks, driving continuous improvement and maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Use commercial awareness and knowledge of financial markets to advise high‑net‑worth clients on products and services.
  • Leverage digital tools and platforms to meet evolving client needs.
  • Exhibit resilience, adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Private Banking, Wealth Management, or a similar client‑facing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy in administrative and operational tasks.
  • Proficient with PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Sound knowledge of banking products, operational procedures, risk management, lending and security requirements.
  • Adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks, including KYC/AML, governance and risk & control procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and apply technical experience to select solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of persuading and influencing stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial markets affecting high‑net‑worth clients.
  • Experience in leading or supervising a team is an advantage; individual contributors expected to develop technical expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups and manage priorities under changing conditions.
