Junior&I Accountant

Our client is a dynamic and growing business based in Reading, currently seeking a Junior Accountant on a fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with month-end experience who is immediately available and looking to take the next step in their accounting career.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Support the preparation of management accounts
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Prepare and analyse financial reports to support decision-making
• Assist with year-end processes and audit requirements
• Contribute to process improvements within the finance function.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, with exposure to month-end processes
• Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or looking to start
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and journals is desirable
• Good Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
• Able to manage workload and meet tight deadlines, particularly around month-end
• Immediately available or available at short notice.
