We are looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Ascot Lloyd. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with treasury and accounts payable experience to take ownership of key financial processes, work closely with senior finance stakeholders, and contribute to the success of a growing, regulated financial services business. Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for all treasury transactions capture in the banking systems, reconciliation of bank accounts and obtaining authorisation for transactions per prescribed process
- Monitoring treasury balances and administration of the on-line banking systems
- Responsible for coding and processing all of treasury transactions in the general ledger including daily reconciliation in the accounting system
- Responsible for the month end reconciliations of all designated bank accounts
- Responsible for all month end treasury processes and reporting within deadlines
- Creating weekly supplier payment runs
- Ownership of bank mandates
- Ad hoc project support
- Creating manual payments in the online banking system ensuring appropriate authorisation
- Assisting with month end processes including preparation of cost packs analysis for budget holders and recharges
Skills Required:
- Prior treasury and Accounts Payable experience
- Knowledge of double entry including accruals and prepayments
- Experience of Sage (Ideally Sage 20)
- Have experience of working within a medium-sized company structure
- Financial services or other professional services experience is desirable
- Has a strong eye for detail and accuracy of output
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Flexible to meet ad hoc requests
- Drive and ability to plan, prioritise and manage workloads
- Ability to follow processes and procedures in a compliant manner
