Our client is seeking a Senior Town Planner in Reading to join an established planning team.

This role is built around one central idea: manage projects for established clients and collaborate with planning colleagues across a national network. The team’s current workload includes residential, commercial, logistics, education and strategic development across the Thames Valley.

• Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
• Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
• Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
• Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support larger instructions while steadily increasing your own project responsibility.

MRTPI or near; consultancy experience; clear advice and reliable project management. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

The salary is £41,000–£51,000. The wider package includes hybrid working, bonus, pension, healthcare and paid professional fees. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
