Senior Probation Officer Returner Scheme - South West

This Senior Probation Officer post sits with the South West and South Central Probation Service, which runs a returners scheme for former qualified senior probation officers. The work centres on keeping the public safe and rehabilitating people on probation. Only those who left the Civil Service within the last five years, and had completed probation, can apply for a fast-track return, offered on a fixed-term or permanent basis.

Successful candidates must pass enhanced vetting and NPPV Level 2 before starting.

• PQF Honours Degree or Graduate Diploma with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice, or Diploma in Probation Studies, or Diploma in Social Work (Probation option), or CQSW (Probation option)

• Former qualified senior probation officer
• Left the Civil Service by resignation or retirement within the last five years
• Completed probationary period before leaving
• Previously appointed on merit through fair and open competition

• Enhanced DBS check
• Security vetting at Enhanced Level 2
• NPPV Level 2 for ViSOR database access
• Occupational Health Review
