Job Summary
Band 7 Clinical Pharmacist (Cancer Services) – We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our growing Cancer Services Team. This is a fantastic chance to make a real difference to patient care while developing specialist expertise within oncology and haematology services.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role you will work closely with the Berkshire Cancer Centre, the Clinical Haematology Team and the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Team, playing a key role in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. You will also contribute to the safe, efficient preparation and supply of chemotherapy and other high‑risk medicines.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in Cancer Services, with well‑developed clinical and technical skills. Training and support will be provided to enable progression towards becoming an Aseptic Services Authorised Pharmacist, and the post holder will deputise for the Lead Clinical Pharmacist(s) for Cancer as required.
As part of the Band 7 Cancer Services Pharmacy team you will also be responsible for the training and development of rotational Band 6 pharmacists.
Person Specification EducationEssential
- Current registered Member of GPhC
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy or UK recognised equivalent (from an accredited University registered with GPhC)
- Post graduate Clinical Certificate or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable
- Independent prescribing qualification or working towards one
Essential
- Multi‑disciplinary Teamwork
- Post‑registration relevant Hospital Pharmacy Experience
- Recent Clinical pharmacy/ward Pharmacy experience
- Experience of patient contact in a clinical setting
- Clinical pharmacy experience in Oncology/Haematology
- Experience of working in a Aseptic services environment
Desirable
- Training of other pharmacy professionals
- Experience of regulatory audit in an aseptic unit
- Knowledge of drug funding in the NHS
