Job overviewThe post holder will provide a key role in developing and maintaining high standards of care for women and birthing people with complex medical complications throughout their pregnancies
They will work closely with the obstetric lead for maternal medicine and multiple specialities across the Trust.
They will provide midwifery care and expertise to the women in this cohort
They will be the named midwife for a the most acute women and provide midwifery antenatal case loading, along side the obstetric lead
Main duties of the job- They will have responsibility for the coordination of care for complex women with medical complications through their pregnancies.
- They will work closely with the Obstetric Lead for Maternal Medicine.
- With the Obstetric Lead they will develop care pathways based on acuity and needs.
- They will triage women referred to Maternal Medicine Clinic and ensure they are on the correct pathway of care.
- Will work with multiple specialities across the Trust and across the network in the planning of care and ongoing care for women.
- Will manage safe transfer of care between RBFT and OUH.
- Will be part of the Thames Valley Network meetings for Maternal Medicine.
- Will be involved in multi- disciplinary review team planning for women under the care of Maternal Medicine.
- They will ensure that women under the care of the Maternal Medicine team receive midwifery support and care that every other woman has during pregnancy.
- Will provide midwifery antenatal case loading for the most acute women.
- Will collate data on outcomes and be able to produce and present reports as required to internal and external stakeholders.
- Opportunity to develop skills as required for service development.
We are looking forward to receiving applications from a motivated midwife who has had experience in providing perinatal mental health provision for pregnant women. The applicant should have evidence of working with multiagency teams and managing a caseload of women with complex economic, social, medical and psychological needs.
