Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker to join the Primary Care team at HMP Risley, a category C prison located in the Risley area of Warrington. This role is a crucial part of the healthcare team, delivering outstanding care to an operationally capable population of around 1,100 inmates. The position requires a full‑time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, primarily day shifts (including weekends) from 07:30 to 20:30, with a week of night shifts every five weeks.
Annual salary ranges from £25,557 to £29,723, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities- Ensure continuity of care for all patients and deliver outstanding care at all times.
- Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods, etc.
- Respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Collaborate holistically with patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy, etc.
- Deliver personalised, non‑judgemental care based on patient feedback.
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics.

- NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
- Experience with in a healthcare setting (hospital, community or secure setting).
- Any experience in primary care or inpatients is a bonus.
