Main duties of the job- Perform accurate assessment of Patients Own Drugs, assessing appropriateness and suitability for use during admission as service provision dictates.
- Undertake regular reviews of ward storage areas, removing surplus stock and any labelled patients medicines, expired fridge items.
- Maintain stock levels and top-up service to ward, liaison with ward sister and ward pharmacist to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained and appropriately managed.
- Actively participate and perform final accuracy checking role within both ward and dispensary areas, against clinically screened prescriptions in accordance with Trust policies and local SOPs.
- Perform routine dispensing and final accuracy checking duties as requested;
Ward stock Controlled Drugs able to supply without secondary check;
Crash boxes;
Paediatric Chemotherapy;
Clinical Trials (if necessary).

Person Specification Qualifications- Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- NVQ level 3 Pharmacy services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent.
- Be an Accredited Checking Technician.
- Pharmacy experience in Acute UK hospital/Community Pharmacy/CCG/GP practice/HMP.
