Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and quality‑check POCT equipment, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Manage stock control and liaise with manufacturers for technical issues.
  • Train and assess clinical staff on POCT equipment and maintain training records.
  • Support audits, accreditation processes, and implementation of new technologies.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work flexibly across sites and hours, including occasional travel.

The post holder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and related orders. Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.

Qualifications
  • Basic IT skills and keyboard accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and organise own workload.
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work across sites, including weekends.
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to patient safety.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in POCT.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Good numeracy and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel independently to BSPS sites.
