Due to maternity leave an opportunity to act as a Lead Mammographer has arisen.
As a Lead Radiographer you will work closely with, and support the Breast Screening Management team to deliver a high quality, patient‑focused service, implementing new technologies and clinical developments with a focus on the symptomatic element of the service.
Responsibilities- Provide breast screening imaging and diagnostic service for West Berkshire Breast Screening Service and the Symptomatic Breast Service.
- Support the Breast Screening Service Manager in the management of both services.
- Provide specialist advice on all aspects of the breast screening programme and symptomatic breast service.
- Work within the Radiology Department, Breast Screening Unit and on the community‑based Mobile Screening Units.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
- Post‑Graduate Certificate in Mammography or equivalent recognised qualification.
- BSc Degree in Radiology or equivalent radiographic qualification, DCR(R).
- Recent and extensive post‑registration experience within a Breast Screening Service.
- Proven clinical experience in a wide range of imaging procedures.
- Participation in quality assurance and clinical audit.
- Responsibility for supervising a process or function within a Breast Screening/Mammography department.
- Recognised mentorship qualification.
- In‑depth understanding of relevant national legislation & targets, and NHS Breast Screening Programme guidelines.
- In‑depth understanding of IR(ME)
R 2017 & IRR 18.
