Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiographer
Band 6 Nuclear Medicine Radiographer / Technologist
The Nuclear Medicine Department at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is a physics‑led clinical patient‑facing service and part of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Directorate.
In 2023 we installed a new SPECT‑CT scanner and are ordering a second scanner for summer installation.
- We would also consider appointing a suitable candidate on a lower grade until all appropriate training and registration are completed.
The main duty is to act as a nuclear‑medicine operator. The team rotates through all aspects of the department, from vetting under protocol, dispensing, injecting, scanning and image processing. You will also be involved in equipment quality assurance checks and in regular reporting sessions with radiologists.
Additional responsibilities include performing GFR tests, participating in radionuclide therapies and, with the new scanner, expanding the service to include neurological and cardiac stress testing studies.
